Clerks' Conference - The Governance Professional

Event description We are pleased to announce that Dawn Samwell from the Department for Education Governance Unit will be our Keynote Speaker focussing on ‘The Governance Professional’.

In this interactive session, as well as expanding on their definition of the clerk as the governance professional, the Department for Education would also like to understand the challenges faced by you as clerks in your roles. At the end of the conference there will also be an opportunity for a Q & A session with Dawn. Come prepared with your questions.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend 2 workshops throughout the course of the morning from a choice of : Financial due diligence- clerks role in ensuring boards are performing robust financial management; Positive Influencer- how the role of the clerk should positively influence the effectiveness and impact of the governing board; Academy Clerking- the essentials required to understand clerking within an academy structure.

This is a great opportunity for Clerks to come together at this annual conference and there will plenty of opportunity for networking, discussion, raising questions, sharing best practice and self- development.

Funding information Schools who subscribe to package 1 - first place per school is free, additional delegates will be charged at the reduced rate £125 each. The charge for non SLA subscribers is £150.00
